—Rabbit in a Greyhound Race

A song I wrote with my friend Sascha Dupont recently. It’s called ‘Rabbit in a Greyhound Race’. Enjoy!

Radio on the TV…

Just found out my song, ‘Burned Again’, is being used in an episode of Hawaii 5.0, airing on February 13! Very exciting! My first tv placement!

Brand new song, ‘Machine in My Chest’. Might still get some tweaking…but will be on the next album for shiz! ENJOY!

(Also co-starring my fella, artist Fionn McCabe, doing his art thang in the background. When he realised I was filming, he assured me he would stop picking his nose…)

—Just Fine

As fortune would have it, late last year I met an incredible producer, Graham Ward, while staying at a friend’s house in Laurel Canyon. It was one of those chance encounters in an area that has so much music history that made me feel like I was living in the 60s. I was leaving the next day, but we ended up in the studio until 3am, and created this track. (Graham spent a lot longer on it after that…). Hope you enjoy!

—Doughnut Theory

In October 2010, I frantically recorded three songs in one day in a studio in Boston. I just realised that I had posted two of them (Janita, and Next to Mine, which is in the videos section…), but never posted this little ditty, Doughnut Theory.

I think about the Doughnut Theory everyday, and try to live life the way of the doughnut…enjoy.

—I'm Gonna Fall

I am frothing with excitement about my new duo, Beautiful Nowhere, with Dutch singer-songwriter, Femke Weidema. We are both getting our geek on for looping and playing with all the other instruments we have only casually tinkled with in the past. Here is a track we wrote a few weeks ago and decided to record, ‘I’m Gonna Fall’. ENJOY!

—Janita

I used to have a lot of trouble writing love songs. I was always intimidated by trying to capture even a portion of my own experience in writing - for fear of bungling it up, oversimplifying it, or for setting in stone something that is an ever-changing reality. I think I am getting over it, but in the meantime, I decided to ask my friends who are in a relationship to tell me about their loves, and I wrote their songs instead. This song is for/about my friends Josh and Janita in Canada, and is sung by the exquisite Alessandro Bellino.
